Common Dental Emergencies

Severe Toothache

Persistent, severe pain that doesn't respond to painkillers may indicate infection or decay requiring urgent treatment.

Broken or Knocked-Out Tooth

Immediate care can often save the tooth. Store the tooth in cold milk (or tuck it inside your cheek) — do not scrub it. Contact us within 30 minutes for the best chance of successful reimplantation.

Dental Abscess

Swelling, infection, and severe pain. Abscesses are serious infections that require immediate professional treatment.

⚠ If you have facial swelling spreading to your neck, difficulty swallowing, or difficulty breathing — go to A&E immediately. Do not wait for a dental appointment.

Lost Filling or Crown

Exposed tooth structure can cause pain and sensitivity. We can restore your tooth and protect it from further damage.

Bleeding Gums

Excessive or persistent bleeding after injury or dental work that won't stop with gentle pressure.

Jaw Pain or Injury

Difficulty opening or closing your mouth, jaw pain, or suspected jaw fracture from trauma.

What to Do in a Dental Emergency

If you have facial or neck swelling, difficulty swallowing, or difficulty breathing alongside a dental problem — call 999 or go to A&E immediately. These are signs of a spreading infection that can be life-threatening.

Call us immediately - Don't wait, same-day appointments available

Rinse with warm water - Clean the affected area gently
